Daniel Fox is an enigma. With the looks of a teen heartthrob he has an emotional depth that is astounding - from his emotion-filled voice to his deeply personal yet universal lyrics. From his humble beginnings in Cape Town, South Africa, he has since won various awards and has performed in front of many, including Nelson Mandela.
He was awarded a scholarship to UCT drama school as well as a placement at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, but despite these offerings of confidence, was unable to attend and went it alone, studying classical singing for 5 years.
Whilst he has made a name for himself as a powerful stage performer, Daniel brought out a full, new set of skills in the recording studio. His songwriting talent, together with his gift for musical arrangement attracted some of South Africaâs finest musicians and producers who collaborated with him in 2004 to record his first LP, âSessions Under the Gunâ. Danielâs mature blending of classical training with his natural rock sensibility has created a brand new âFoxâ sound, once described by a music critic as âfolk music tenderness with all the coolness of alternative rock and the theatrical excitement of a Broadway showâ
Daniel is currently working on new material and promoting his music in Los Angeles, New York and London.
