Born and raised in Trinidad, this talented singer is making his mark on American soil. Dakeye, whose mother actually named him Richard Marshall, is no newcomer to the music business. he's been singing of his life. Dakeye moved from Trinidad to Houston Texas in 1984. There he formed a reggae band called Judah Star. After recording several singles with them in 1987, Dakeye moved to Los Angeles, California and formed the Detour Posse.
In 1999, while still working the Posse, Dakeye embarked on a solo career, recording for veteran producers like Sly & Robbie adn Fabian Cooke. In the summer of 1999 Dakeye in association with Kevin Brown and Canja Sounds, recorded several songs including the hit single Ever in Love which is an impressive lovers rock tune over the Lecturer rhythm. This song has been on he top ten charts in Miami, Texas and California. with his sweet soulful lyrics & melodies and his dark and penetrating eyes, Dakeye is always a favorite of the ladies. Some have said that his sweet, strong, sexy voice reminds them of the late, great, Garnet Silk. He is a captivating singer and songwriter.
HEY YOU and LIGHT MY FIRE are two new releases, which will be featured on a full legnth album later in 2006.
