POP: with Electronic Production, FOLK: Folk Pop
Details:
David Lally was raised on the West Coast of Ireland in an ancient, museum/gallery/cave, surrounded by wet farm fields.
He has written all his life, drawing on a youth surrounded by colour, noise, front-lawn-camping tourists, multiple relations, neighbours, madpoets, Western holidays and miscellaneous randoms.
FLOGGING LALLY
Lally has traveled across America, living in tents, cabins, cars and couches looking for Jack Kerouac. Time spent in London, Dublin, Paris, India and Berlin along the way provides the fuel that still drives his writing today.
Over the past six years, he has played countless shows including gigs with the likes of Sara Watkins from Nickel Creek and Matt Hensley from Flogging Molly.
FOLKTRONIC
âMy siblingsâ Led Zeppelin, The Police, Roy Orbison and miscellaneous âChartâ records⦠all part of what spun in my head growing up. There was always music at home. Mum plays piano, and 3 classical guitars sort of wandered around the house. Iâm interested in fusion - vocals, guitar, and electronica. My songs tend to have a percussive backbeat from the way I play guitar. It has a kind of trance effect on me when I am playing for myself."
RADIODEAD
In 2005, he released âOftenOneâ
Ongoing gigs have further showcased his powerful songs nationwide. Described as a âunion of Jeff Buckley, David Gray and Massive Attackâ, his music wants to stop you in your tracks.
His new CD does just that.
