What theyâre saying about Daryl Kojak
and âNotes From The Pilgrimageâ
âMr. Kojak uses his solo piano as few pianists can, to create a new mood, new texture, a different attack for each song that makes each one special, individual.â --Show Business
âKojakâs music creates lovely moods and is a great fit for romantic summer eveningsâ --WRTN-FM
âKojakâs well-polished technique can shine - his jazz and classical training lift the compositions...â â...a fine ensemble of strings, horns and woodwinds, evoking even more the classical aspects of his compositions.â âA fine offering with widespread appeal.â --NAPRA ReView
âLike the famed Windham Hill cache of albums, this debut CD by Daryl Kojak is, at once, bucolic and intensly musical. Itâs clearly and âeasy listenâ album. With extended passages of fine jazz tuned with classical overtones, the album seemingly marks the start of an artist who will make a serious solo mark. Listening to the introspective and melodious âPrayerâ takes the listener on a journey that is haunting and mystical. âNotes From The Pilgrimageâ is a magical fusion of gentle moods and hypnotic nuances that are subtle and reflective from a composer of virtuosic merit. The album evokes into a series of poetic panoramas that emote a sensuality that is a combination of New Age Jazz and spontaneous improvisations placing Kojak in a league with the likes of Vangelis and George Winston.â --Backstage
The orchestrations and musical directing of Daryl Kojak are absolutely beautiful. Itâs wonderful to hear music in a new way.â --WNYX-TV
âOne of the best piano players in New Yorkâ --WBAI-FM
âMusical director Daryl Kojak has established himself as one of the best on the scene.â --Backstage
âmaster manipulator of the pianoâ --electroniclink.com
âdynamic jazz pianistâ --Cabaret Hotline
