Daniel Hansen is from Washington Island, Wisconsin, and lives there. He received degrees in Theory & Composition and History & Literature of music from UW-Stevens Point and K-12 General and Choral Music from UW-Green Bay. Dan continues to work on new musical and art projects and products. He is choir director for the Lutheran Church and guitarist for weekly Catholic mass. Sponsored by the Washington Island Music Festival, Dan teaches music in the K-12 schools. "Faithful Friends" is a group of six young women, directed by Dan, who have sung and performed together for six years. On Thursday and Sunday nights Dan plays piano at T. Ashwell's restaurant in Ellison Bay and on Saturday nights and for special occasions at the Washington Hotel on Washington Island.
Dan's original piano music and "stylings" are unique, restful, melodic and soothing. His instrumental compositions are "beautiful songs for the piano". When people hear the recordings they often ask "Who's that playing?" or "What's that music?" and ask where they can buy it.
