DAS decided to move to NYC 1991 to pursue and study black hip-hop culture. He started to DJ in 1996 at NYC clubs (N.V. ,2is,Spa,Fun,205,Cheeta, IzzyBar,Bar16, Gonenika, Room143 etc. This was in joint partnership with Dj Kaori (formally of Hot 97) and DJ Hiro of 360 Toy Group. it was his chance for DAS to spotlight his talent and love of hip-hop music.
DAS represents the real N.Y. style. DAS has released MixTapes (East II East vol.1,2,3,4) as a DJ. He showed up his MC skills in 2000 in a joint project with Twiggy, a major Japanese hip-hop artist. (album âseven Dimension Remixâ âNow is pastâ) Also in 2000 did some co-work with Storm Ryders, a New York based Japanese hip-hop group. They released a 12â single and CD âBust Ya Guts â and âRizing Sun.â
DAS has become well known to many industry people in New York City as the âHot Japanese artist from Brooklyn.â In 2001 DAS felt it would be best to go solo. After the move he worked on his 1st CD project and co-founded a hip- hop production group HIGHTOPNYC, with New Yorks own DJKLEVER aka NOFACE.

DAS first solo album release âBrooklynâ (The life and times of soul revolutionary) on HIGHTOPNYC. This CD was about how DAS has lived for 12 years in the hip-hop mecca (NY) and his relationship with the black hip-hop industry in the USA, from a Japanese point of view.
