I have been in church pretty much since the day I was born. I actually tell alot of people that I was born in a pew ! I am the oldest of 3 boys, my brotherâs are Michael who is a phenomenal drummer and Jonathan who is still finding what his gifts are in the Lord.
My Father is Pastor Tim Oldfield of The Potterâs House Church of God in Columbus, Ohio. One of the most anointed men of God alive today, I believe. My Mother is an anointed singer and worship leader that I have learned so much from over the past 14 months.
I have been leading praise and worship and singing since I was 13. I remember the service when I could hear the Lord calling me to this ministry. It was the very first youth service in the new Potterâs House building and up to that point, I didnât really know what praise and worship was all about. But that night I got a revelation from the Lord. I started leading praise and worship, just like every other service that I had been apart of, and the next thing you know, there are people laying all across the floor in the youth room of that building. At that point, I knew two things without a shadow of a doubt. Firstly, I was just a vessel that the Lord uses and chooses to pour through. Secondly, I know now that when God calls you he is faithful to complete what he started.
That night, I started a long journey that I will not complete until I stand before the Lord and he says to me âWell done my good and faithful servantâ! I would go from that point, and begin leading praise and worship in youth camps, all kinds of services, but to me, the most important thing was to be able to minister in my own church!
The night that the Lord gave me a look into my future was at a youth camp in Southern Ohio. It was an awesome service, I was singing for the altar call, and the minister said that he wanted all of the band and singers to come down to get prayed for. So we went down, and the Lord spoke through Pastor Ray Phillips, and awesome anointed youth Pastor at the Stratford Heights Church of God in Hamilton, Ohio, to tell me that God had his hand on me since I was in my motherâs womb. He would continue to say that the Lord said, âThe plans and dreams that I have had over the last years, are nothing compared to what God actually has in store for me.â And up to this point, God has kept his word.
I am now the Music Minister at the House of Restoration Worship Center in Milford, Ohio, getting ready to be married to a beautiful girl in November, name Erin Hicks, and I have just wrote and recorded my first solo album, âPraise Will Turn It Aroundâ. All at the age of 22. Now if God is not in that, I am preparing myself to wake up from this dream! But I believe that He is, because he promised me that it would come, and this is just the beginning!
