Details:
You'll probably find him in a particular muse while riding a train or sitting on a front porch or swingset somewhere talking with a close friend. While in deep thought, Singer/Songwriter Marc Davis will be drawing new ideas for his music which, lyrically speaking, is about anything Marc comes in contact with. His musical style, while typically composed of somber tones, is thought provoking and awe inspiring.

Marc started writing music when he was 11 years old. Drifting from band to band, the young Davis got frustrated with the normality of trite, mainstream music and began to write his own solo acoustic music. After he released his first album, 'A Lost Sanctuary', Marc was ready to settle down and play seriously with a band. He became the singer and guitarist of the rock band Erosion in Cleveland and played along side bands such as Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Dio's Malos, World Leader Pretend, Burning Vegas, Pepper, American Rockstar, Sindust, Jaded Era, and The Whole Nine. Erosion released an album ('La Bora Testun') and made a name for themselves in Cleveland's scene playing at just about every venue in the area there is to play.

After Erosion went on their 'indefinite haitus,' Marc went back to writing solo music. At this time, Marc began school at Ohio University. According to Marc, "Athens' music scene forever changed my music and what will come later. From my year at OU, I learned how to actually play real music and not just perform something, but to actually play...and mean it." While at Ohio University, Marc released his second full length album, 'A Village of Forests and Water.'

Most recently, he has been writing music for the creation of a concept album - an album that tells a story. When asked about it, Marc said, "It's a story focused around two people; a boy named Amsel and a girl named Josephine. Throughout the course of the story, you learn more about these characters and how they are both terribly and inwardly depressed. Through a series of conversations and events that take place, one of them spirals downward and out of control in their sadness. It's basically a love story of how one saves the other." The album will be called, 'The Quickest Way Out of Manchester."

Marc has recently transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston to pursue his education in music.

Although he has a website in the works (which will be up and running soon), check out www.myspace.com/marcduden for the latest news on Marc Davis for now.
