Allied with the "new-folk" scene, Nefesh's music is contemporary and infused with pop and rock influences. Folk that rocks. His clear, heart-on-his-sleeve voice travels easily from a gentle whisper to bold proclamations of joy or agony.

Given this and his universal messages about love, loss, joy and heartache, it's no wonder that he captures the enthusiasm of college students and older listeners alike.

Nefesh obtained a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and practiced psychotherapy for ten years before music re-entered his life in a big way. In January of 1999--after years of only rare public appearances and sporadic songwriting--he started an intense period of writing and performing, yielding close to 90 original songs and 250 appearances at various venues in the United States and Canada since that time, including TV and radio appearances, and airplay in Europe.
