Every now and then there comes along an artist that truly touches your soul and let's the true meaning of smooth Rhythm and Blues show it's face. Duane Scott is that one true artist. Coming from the town of Clarksdale, MS
that has had such great star's as Ike Turner, the late great Sam Cooke and today's hip-hop star Nate Dogg pass through it's streets, hopefully Duane will continue the string of great stars to come from this little town located in the Mississippi Delta.
Duane Scott began singing in church at the age of four and in fact still sings in church today. Now he's using his gift to bestow a bit of R/B flair mixed with a subtle hint of urban and hip-hop. Duane has been greatly influenced by artist such as Kenny Lattimore, Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder, and Musiq.
Once a member of the upstart group "Neutral", where he was not allowed to show his true vocals skills, Duane Scott eventually left to pursue his dream on his own. He released his debut CD entitled "New Luv" in the spring of 2004 and got great response. The CD consisted of a number of ballards just for the ladies from a males point of view, as well as a few up tempo songs for the fella's. Duane has performed on television shows in the New Orleans area as well as performed on a regular bases in Jackson, MS, Omaha, NE, and other cities.
Since the release of his CD in mid-July of 2005, Duane has received a number of accolades. One of them being voted as the 3rd most requested song for the month of July 05 on WJMB Internet Radio Station broadcast live to thousands of listenerâs around the world from the www.memphisrealtalk.com website. He was also featured in then August 05 issue of Mahogany magazine. At the moment, Duane is in the studio working on his sophmore CD entitled Itâs Jus Muzic: Tha CD. One thing we can promise is you will not be disappointed. The future is bright and this R&B newcomer is ready for the light to shine on him.
