Rubber Rec. presents the compilation Deep Tones including 12 greek ELECTRONICA projects that create an atmospheric sensual trip of moodsânâgrooves. Ten of the tracks on offer appear exclusively in the compilation. The brilliant dreamy melodies are created by some of the most important greek ELECTRONICA producers, with international releases in important labels such as: MOLE LISTENING PEARLS, INSTICT, GOOD LOOKING, SHADOW, UNDER THE COUNTER, STATRA etc.
The first track is the wet trippy jazz of the D-falls by DIGITAL ALKEMIST ( having already released tracks in labels such as SHADOW and MOLE LISTENING PEARLS and having reached Nr4 in the German Dance chart with the 12ÎÎ Right Version Left ) makes wait impatiently his first album.
PALYRRIA follows with a special remix by BLEND( with several releases in SHADOW, D-SOFA, INSTICT, PORK, STEREO DELUXE). Blend re-creates and bulds upon the track âMorning Lyreâ out of the first PALYRRIA album âZero Gravityâ (Rubber rec) creating maybe the first greek-dub ever. And a great dub track, indeed.
Later we meet ELECTROWARE with âWatching The Circle Danceâ a classic of the local electronica with no doubt. Based on a traditional dance tune of Karpathos and written after the meeting between DJ Stefan with Jose Padilla ,of Café Del Mar fame, who was asking him for a track with traditional elements. Taken out of the EP âThe City (Rubber rec.)
Fourth in the row are Parallel Worlds with the track â Logicâ taken out of their forthcoming album âExistenceâ (Rubber rec). Analog romanticism of Tangerine Dream meets ambient in a perfect blend.
A newcomer follows. PEEKAY TAYLOH (2!!!! Album releases are to be expected by him in the year in POETA NEGRA and VIBRANT labels) and the track âLucrative Accordsâ an atmospheric electro with dub elements. A melodic-space-night dream.
Next in line is DRUMAMINE with â 3D Natureâ. A psychedelic-ambient tune full of downtempo beats and acoustic instruments. The result seduces and takes off our souls.
CROONER follows with the exotica bossa of âCorcovado Nights In Spaceâ taken from their album â THE SOFT ESCAPEâ (POP ART) released in Europe and Japan. They have performed in major Spanish festival along with acts such as Stereolab etc. Whispering vocals in one of the trippiest moments of the compilation.
SUBBUTEO PERVERT comes next and the track âNightoseâ. Cinematic nu-jazz electronica. Memories from the future.
Afterwards we meet LUCIDT and â Motor Lacesâ. Abstract electro- jazz in a noise full of love.
Next is NIGHTAZE and â Silver Daylightâ that proves its title. Sugar sweet electro pop.
And the first obvious hit of the compilation comes with track Nr.11. HYPLAR (with a global release of their first album from LES DISQUES AQUATIC). âDance to Danceâ is a perfect mix of 80âs electro-disco and Bryan Ferry. An instant dance hit.
Last but not least is NIKOS DIAMANTOPOULOS (a.k.a NIKKIE D) and the trackd âWeek Spiritâ. One of the best greek house djs-producers (with releases in STATRA , UNDER THE COUNTER) offers us an original piece of internal-passionate Athenian soul. A previously unreleased piece of gold.
