Details:
Canadian born Denise âDeeâ Sirois was introduced to music early as a kid growing up in a small French Acadian town in the most northeast corner of the United States. âI came from a very musical family. I remember my father and his sisters getting together for guitar and fiddle jams on Sunday afternoons. We would sit around and sing our hearts out to old Hank Williams songs. I still have recordings of my father and me harmonizing to old country songs when I was five years old.â

At fourteen Dee first met the J.T. Band, composed of a father and two brothers, who were well known as the premier band in northern Maine. âMy friend told me that I had to hear this band. We went to this motel lounge where the J.T. Band was playing and I was blown away. These guys were so talented.â

After Dee finished high school, she left her small hometown in Maine to see more of the world and the music scene. Eventually she returned to her roots to rediscover the qualities of small town life and to be closer to her family. One day she walked into J.T. Band founding member, Jerry Thibeaultâs, recording studio to take piano lessons. âI had known Jerry for quite some time; however, I was intimidated by his talent. But the lessons went well and eventually I tried recording a couple of cover songs.â With help and encouragement from the other J.T. band members, guitarist Jamie Thibeault and drummer Jasen Thibeault, she discovered a musical chemistry that all came together. âThese guys are so talented. I have such faith in their ability to take my songs and make them great. So much credit on this album goes to them for all their creative energy and input.â

Deeâs first CD, âDee Featuring the J.T. Band,â includes six original compositions by Dee, and features the talents not only of Dee, but also the same three guys she first met nearly 20 years ago.âThese songs are all written from my soul,â reflects Dee. âEach song has a personal story behind it. It makes me happy that people can connect with the experiences and emotions that come out of my songs. It makes me feel that somehow I am not alone.â
