Highly improvised, contemporary jazz.
8 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Free Jazz, JAZZ: Weird Jazz
Details:
The Denty/Westlake trio has been playing together since 1992. The group over the years has evolved into what it is today. They pride themselves on being interconnected musically. Rob Denty stated it clearly when he said, "we strive to play in the moment and allow the songs we play to unfold organically. Hopefully, we can reduce the temptation of formulas and premeditated ideas".
âEtchedâ their first CD as a group, was recorded in March of 2005 and released June of 2006. The interaction of the players in this music is paramount to itâs existence.
The players, Rob Denty, tenor and soprano saxophones, Paul Westlake, MIDI equipped 6 string whammy bar electric bass and Joe Adamik, drums, really dug down deep into their souls during this live studio date. All of the songs have compelling attributes about them. Especially note how songs like Biota, B.G. and Morning Peace slowly poke and jab with free expression, taking you on a journey full of excitement and undeniable passion.
