This talented group of musicians captivates the audience with their enthusiasm, energy, style and professionalism. They are often remembered for the quality of their performance. With song selections from your favorite reggae artist, to their own original songs, your satisfaction is guaranteed. The group tailors each performance and song selections to please and entertain audiences of all ages, nationality and social background.

Rising Sun Reggae Band was founded and established by Delroy Headley, the current bandleader and manager, and Pierre Belony in 1993. They had a vision to put together a group of musicians that could deliver Reggae music to people from all over the world and who could not only entertain, but also captivate their audience while having fun. Finding a lead vocalist to complete their vision was taken under much consideration. Being a vocalist himself, Delroy wanted the group to be unique. Together, Delroy and Belony decided that a female lead vocalist would fit the bill. They went on a search to find this female, not just any female but one with style, personality and talent. This search led them to the one and only Andrea Williams, lead vocalist and public relation manager for the group.

The band consists of eight musicians and a sound engineer: A Drummer, Bass player, Guitar player, two Keyboard players, Percussionist, two Lead vocalists and a background vocalist. Rising Sun Band has performed locally at venues such as Seacrets, in Ocean City, The Settings Supper Club, Crossroads Night club, Izora restaurant, Chevy Chase Country Club, Takoma Station, Bukon Café, BET on Jazz, Fasika, Zanzibar on the Waterfront, State of the Union, the Lions Den, Mr. Henry's, Cassava Café, the Spy Club/Z Club, Erico, Polomas, Bailey's Café & Grill, Pennsylvania State University, George Washington University, Obriens, Ned Devine, Uncle Sam's and Basin Street Lounge. The group also Headlined in South Carolina, at the James Island County Park Reggae Festival and the Moja arts Festival Reggae Block Dance and Knoxville Tennessee, for the Labor Day Weekend Jam at Michael's. They opened for the Whailers at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach, Delaware.

Rising Sun Reggae Band released their first original CD entitled "Serious" in the fall of 2002. Delroy Headley produced the CD. The DC Annual Reggae Music Awards recognized the group's talent and hard work in 1999, 2001 and 2002. In 1999 and 2001, Andrea Tracy received "Best Female Reggae Singer". The group received several awards for the CD "Serious" in 2002. They received an award for "Best Reggae Recording", Best Female Recording" "Song of the Year" and "Producer of the Year".
