Details:
David DeMordaunt is a singer / songwriter / guitarist whose music is a unique blend of seemingly disparate elements such as progressive rock, acoustic meanderings, melencholy instrumental jams, and heavier explorations. Key to the outcome is the involvement of drummer extrodinaire Mac Leckrone, whose jazz and progressive leanings always take the music to a higher and unpredictable place.

Blackbird's Lullaby is David's most diverse collection of songs yet, and is the product of two year's worth of intense composing and recording. As with David's prior CD, Everything That Has a Beginning, Mark Pistel (formerly of Consolidated and Meat Beat Manifesto) produced and mixed most of the tracks.

On Blackbird's Lullaby, there are several appearances from other talented artists such as Tom Douvan (jazz guitar), Tessa Alburn (flute), Nancy Cohan (cello), Bob Giverink (guitar), Bill Voigt (guitar), Mike Davis (acoustic guitar), Angela Dib (flute) and Stephanie Dib (spoken word).

Review of Blackbird's Lullaby on Smother.net:

California artist David DeMordaunt releases his new album âBlackbirdâs Lullabyâ with its sweet and intimate lyrics. As a Bay Area indie artist he has a lot of competition but if this album is any indication of his live performances, Iâm sure the scene heralds him as one of their knights. The guitars sway with an indie folk swagger but thereâs a clear progressive rock vibe with the guitar tone which gives the album an intriguing mixture of sound. Impressive to say the least.
