The acclaimed group that reinvented Fado.
14 MP3 Songs
WORLD: World Fusion, WORLD: Western European
Details:
Following the success of itâs debut album âVol. 1â that received the Album Of The Month award by BBCâs Charlie Gillett and had the tune âRumberoâ included in Charlieâs annual compilation of the best from 2004 â âThe Sound Of The World 2004â Dead Combo released the second album âVol. 2 â Quando a Alma Não é Pequenaâ.
The new album takes its title from Fernando Pessoaâs poem âMensagemâ. Deeply rooted in the Portuguese tradition and at the same time open to influences from all over the world, this new album shows us that the group has developed a musical language that is original and unique. The elements that first come out of the music by the duo are the obvious connections to their homeland and its music but also traces of Africa and America as heard on âO Assobio (Canção do Avô)â or âMr. Eastwoodâ.
