Deanna Rose is an independent contemporary pianist living and performing in the Vancouver, Washington, Portland, Oregon Area.

Deanna started playing piano at age 4, learning and playing by ear. After years of begging for lessons, she began her classical training at age 9. She had already written a few songs and continued to write music through her teens. Deanna is extremely shy about her talent and kept her music personal for many years. During her college years, she focused on engineering and art at first. For some insane reason she sold her piano and was without music for eight long years. After graduating with a BA in Fine Art from Western Washington University in 1993, she was able to rent a small piano. To her suprise, the eight year break helped Deanna gain more freedom with improvisation and "freed" her to play as she's wanted. An amazing current of creativity started flowing. When her mom bought her a grand piano keyboard, Deanna was able to start recording on her computer.

When Deanna went back to college again to become a dental hygienist, she would try out her songs around campus. For coffee and gas money, she would often play for tips at the local Safeway deli store. How can one not build confidence and comfort playing in front of people when you're playing on a grand piano in the middle of the veggie section at Safeway. To her delight and surprise, people loved her music and started asking for a recording.

After several novice attempts, Deanna was thrilled to record her "retail" ready copy of "Simplicity." Her original arrangements are delightful, and have a unique transportive quality. Many fans describe their experience while listening to Deanna's music as being taken to unexpected and surprising places. With melodic and classical elements, you can't help being drawn to picturesque places and soft quiet emotional landscapes. Deanna is excited to share her melodies in her debut release Simplicity.

Deanna loves most to simply share her inspirations through music and art. While giving the gift of music to others, she's the one who gains the most spiritually!

Deanna currently balances her time working as a dental hygienist, composing, creating art, and raising her three children. She has twins (age three) and two of her children are special needs (autism and asperghers syndrome). She balances her spirit by composing, playing and sharing her music. She also loves hiking, watching movies, knitting, puzzles, gaming(computers and gamecube), and traveling. She often laughs about being a 40 year old female gamer!
