Lymon's House

The four members of Lymon's House came together in Waterloo Iowa in 2000, after playing both together and separately. Ross and Jeff have been friends since high school, and played in several high school bands. After high school, Ross and Jeff went their separate ways, with Ross playing in two bands in the Ames and Des Moines areas and Jeff continuing to drum in Waterloo. Three years ago, Ross and Jeff got together again, and this time added Kelly on vocals and Tim on bass. This group formed Lymon's House, currently one of the most exciting bands in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls and Des Moines areas.

Lymon's House is...

Ross Hillsman, vocals and guitar; Kelly Holmes, vocals; Tim Hillsman, bass; Jeff Holmes, drums

Lymon's House's sound meshes the best of both classic and alternative rock and roll, with a dose of solid originals thrown in for good measure. Event coordinators and bar managers praise Lymon's House for their incredible stage presentation and high-energy performances. Patrons appreciate the dance-friendly songs and the effort that the band puts forth in ensuring that the crowd has a great time. They also appreciate that Lymon's House averages under 30 minutes of breaks total during a 4.5 hour set!

Lymon's House has experience entertaining at both large outdoor events and small neighborhood clubs. They are able to tailor their presentation to cater to any type of crowd at any type of venue.

Published reviews of Evicted CD- summary in Iowa Entertainer Magazine, August, 2003

"Lymon's House is off to a great start. This CD has an excellent mix of modern and vintage tonal qualities. All band members are talented enough to show their abilities without showboating. Between the emotional vocal delivery, the perfect placement of harmonies, the powerfully expressive guitar solos, and the great use of riffs and rhythms, each song has its own personality."

What they're saying...

"When booking Lymon's House to play at Shad's Place, I was not prepared for the explosion of rock and roll they brought with them. The energy and professionalism combined with a real rock band sound thrilled us, and held the crowd to the end, leaving them wanting more."
-Greg Shadlow, owner, Shad's Place, Waterloo, Iowa

"The runner, onlookers, and especially the race committee workers at the finish line were delighted with the music- and the variety- that Lymon's House provided. We immediately asked them for a repeat performance next year and were very happy when they accepted."
-Linda Cornelison, Entertainment Chairman, Dam to Dam race committee

"These artists combine chemistry and energy to produce a powerful show that is guaranteed to please!"
-Vicki St. James, Mix 96 Radio, 96.1 FM Waterloo, Iowa
