The rummager, seminal noise rock drummer (Velvet Monkeys, Half Japanese, B.A.L.L., gumball, dinosaur jr.) is back with a new project and is ready to rock the nation. It's back to the basics, no pretensions - no nothing, just straight forward rock and roll.
Joined by his compadres red and dex (sugarhed, head upsetters) and billie bob (deadlove) they are ready to rock your town.
The Lookies hail from Harrisburg, PA home of TMI and that's about it! The Lookies have just completed recording a 5 song self entitled ep released on their own RedRum label. The ep was recorded at Progressive studios and mixed at KIVO studios by Michael Washkevich and rocks real hard.
The Lookies are currently playing gigs on the East Coast and plan to head back into the studio soon to record more songs.
A Short History
Red and Rum began working together as the Excitement Brothers in a techno-hard rock hybrid called Original Blend. They started frequenting Tone Deaf Studios run by Bill Zimmerman. As the sessions progressed they coaxed Bill into joining the band. The Shorty Porter Brother Boys we're born. The Brother Boys soon decided to expand their sound by inviting Dexter into the family. Due to litigation beyond their control the S.P.B.B. changed their name to Team Shorty. Team Shorty releases Truth & Knowledge in 2001 on their own RedRum Records label. On the verge of fame and fortune disaster strikes and the Team is forced to take a time-out.
In early 2003 Red, Rum and Dex start thinking about their future. They decide, "It's got to be about the rock". They start practicing and recording demo tracks. Like the Blue's Brother's a plan is hatched "get the band back together". The Lookies are born. The Lookies have just completed their 5 song EP on RedRum Records.
"Reflections of this country's pre-occupation with sex, violence, and monetary greed."
