Lower 48 is dirty Punk Rock on Acid. This is music for trucker's and biker's to take road trips on. These guys take the pop back OUT of rock'n roll and serve it up dangerous and raw.

Lower 48 was formed in New York City.

In the beginning, Lower 48 spent much of its time in a basement getting drunk and banging on/playing anything in sight: pots, pans, old car horns, instruments, etc. Their first year was pure anarchy, getting banned from venues, fighting with each other and constantly wrecking their rehearsal space. The band was always on the verge of imploding.

By the time they released their first EP, AAA, they had scared off their first drummer. After she left, the band were hard pressed to find anyone capable of backing up either their psychotic episodes or their chaotic sound. The band went through three or four drummers in a matter of months.

Then they met Ray. When he sat down with them, Lower 48 was, for the first time, in the eye of the storm. They loved it and worked relentlessly toward building up their catalog and began playing anywhere and everywhere they could get a show.

They recorded their second album, 6PK, in January of 2006 and have since played some of the best live-music venues in New York City: CBGB, the Knitting Factory, Piano's, the Delancey, LIT, Fontana's, and more...

Lower 48 has drawn many comparisons to late 70's/early 80's punk bands such as the Dead Kennedy's, the Sex Pistols, the Misfits and the Subhumans.
