Lauren Silva has a voice that is definitely a gift from above. Its soulful and jazzy sound conveys raw emotion straight from the heart. Lauren uses her God-given talent to bring messages of hope and faith to others and to share her own story of hardship, turmoil, and redemption.

Lauren was born in San Diego and did not have the easiest start in life; alcoholism had a grip on her home, creating disorder and unhappiness, which fostered anger and depression within her soul at young age. Lauren found an escape from the challenges her home life created when she was introduced to the performing arts. She started with dance when she was five years old, and her interests rapidly evolved into pageants, theater and song. Seeing the positive impact that performing had on her daughter, Lauren's mom made every effort to see that Lauren made it to auditions, shows, and pageants while nurturing her talents and drive. Lauren used the arts as an outlet for her emotions and energy and her successes gave her the confidence and self-worth to battle her depression. Lauren's world was the stage, and it provided her with an escape from the problems of her life.

At eleven years old, Lauren collaborated with a young boy for stage performances and began to find comfort through the arts. The boy was thirteen and the two found that they shared many interests. Lauren and this young man became nearly inseparable best friends and complimented each other on and off stage, but then tragedy struck. Her young friend was battling inner demons that he hid away from the world, a fight that eventually caused him to take his own life. Lauren discovered her friend's body. The trauma and pain of this event shattered her world. The safe haven Lauren created as an escape from the problems of her life no longer gave Lauren the same kind of comfort that it once did. Her life went spiraling into depression and she soon gave into her anger and sadness. Lauren acted out with vandalism and violence toward those around her. She was on a path of self-destruction, and surrounded herself with peers who were on the same negative path. She shut herself down to all those who cared for her, and turned to drugs and alcohol in an attempt to dull her pain.

At sixteen years old with little hope for a positive future, Lauren went to the Christian girl's camp. Her life was in chaos and pain was overwhelming her spirit, and she began to realize that she needed help. She started to search for answers; for meaning and purpose to her life. Lauren wanted some type of focus and clarity. She began to learn about faith, God, Jesus and Divine Salvation, and through these, Lauren started to understand hope. Lauren was beginning to see the beauty of life rediscovering the gifts the Lord had bestowed upon her. She was taking the first steps to regain control over her life.

Lauren began to pray for answers and guidance, while examining the choices she was making in life. Lauren realized that she was not using her talents the way she truly wanted. She wanted to help others who were on the same path she was on before. Lauren's songs are testimonials of where she has been and what has saved her life. She has found more success and joy in life now than ever before doing what she loves.
