Labeling Deloris exudes a striking musical confidence that is quickly generating an electrifying buzz. Their music is not a composite of four individuals but rather four
individual visions that create a seamless entity, Labeling Deloris.
Labeling Deloris was formed when two music management majors realized they could not win a battle of the bands armed with a voice and an acoustic guitar. So vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Jennifer Reiff and guitarist/songwriter Jason Rigney recruited Andrew Boudouris and bassist Brad Rigney to create the alternative-jazz-pop-rock band that women.com has listed in their 2005 top 50 bands to watch. The competition - at City Stage/Level 5 in Wilmington, NC against more than fifty other bands - was the band's very first public performance as Labeling Deloris. And they took home the coveted gold.
The foursome are from parts of North Carolina and Virginia finding each other by way of Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. They keep rolling as their first self recorded original song, "Know Where You Are," was an acclaimed national finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. Also to their credit are many private and public performances including the Azalea Festival and thousands of independently sold CD's. Playing for thousands of people, Labeling Deloris' extraordinary songwriting and superb musicianship adds to their explosive left of center live performances leaving their audience with every possible feeling running through their soul. With the smooth vocal stylings of Gwen Stefani and Jason Mraz layered over an energized mixture of rock with a touch of Herbie Hancock, Labeling Deloris will appeal to music lovers everywhere.
