Hailing from Toulouse, France a city known more for its tourism than rock tours comes France's latest export, LISA. Formed in the summer of 2001 they quickly began creating their brand of emotive power pop.
Being influenced by everyone from The Get Up Kids to Hot Water Music, LISA was on the rise. After grabbing everyone's ears with their 2002 demo, they began playing shows all over the southwest region. LISA packed clubs and left audiences stunned with their brilliant musicianship and live energy.
Once a solid fanbase was set in place they set off on an exceptional 4 month tour of France. Following the tour LISA desired to enter the studio yet again, knowing they could top their previous release. They headed to the local studio "la vache sous les marronniers", and after a highly successful stint in the studio Little Contest was born. Featuring seven emo rock masterpieces that turned out so sheer and natural, showcasing the way music should be created. Little Contest began receiving great reviews locally and it wasnt long before the band sought a label in the U.S. In October of 2003 Wisconsin's own Skrewed Records inked the band, and had Little Contest remixed and remastered in the states. Thus the Skrewed Records release of Little Contest, a refined version with brand new artwork and a dynamic new sound.
Unfortunately following the U.S. release of Little Contest LISA threw in the towel and all the members decided that it was time to move on. Though LISA is no longer a band, their memory lives on through the music and always will.

Punk with a Heart
I usually think of punk songs coming in small fast hard doses, so the track length immediatley set me back, at almost four minutes I was expecting an epic. The change seems almost like it could fit right in with most of what's in alternative. and in fact, is better than most of what's actually in alternative. The faster parts are reminiscent of early Camper Van Beethoven. In the end, the track length was great, and I was sad to hear it end. A great track!
