Liesl Müller was born in Vienna where she spent a large part of her childhood. She has theatre and cabaret in her blood, her father, Karl Müller, was one of time proprietor of the famous Cabaret Simpl in Vienna, and her mother, Rosl Berndt, a well known soubrette and comedy star.

Married in England to Tom (Johnny) Johnson, Liesl has 3 daughters and is the proud "Glamorous Grandmother! of two boys and a girl.
