Stealing Description
March 07, 2009 01:14PM
Hi, I posted my product a while ago, and now that I see it, people have taken MY description and posted it EXACTLY the same. I will not allow this. Customers are buying their fake products, when they are not even resellers of this script, using MY description.

I want these products removed. You can find this 'fake' products by looking for description the same as MY products as follows

5014058, 6438861

Leave these 2 products running as they are mines, and remove all other ones with the same description.

Thanks

(Many of them can be found by searching 'ptc')

I have found the ID's of 2 listings that are using my description.

You can compare these to my 2 products and see that they stole my description.

Thanks

I agree, I had my descriptions stolen too and they still have not been removed. They just copy and paste it in. Tradebit should really remove those phony listings and shut down accounts of the those people.

Ralf, make this rule.

Payloadz does an amazing job at this, they remove entire accounts if this happens and tradebit should do it too.

hi zerosmf, please email(!) me your original product urls with the same descriptions... we are trying to be less restrictive in our approach, but plain copies are not good at all!

hi - his files are older than yours! The files you listed are both older than yours and that alone would mean that you stole his description?

Further more I just searched google for a text chunk and found around 40 pages with exactly this description of you both... No wonder the file is not selling, you both have the same text copy which leads Google to NOT ranking it high - neither of your files...

So: NO, he did not steal your copy, you both use copy that is not originally from you, so please try not to complain on the public forum just because you think we follow then.

cheers,
ralf

Yes, but unlike him I got permission from the script owner on eBay to re use the description.

Also, have you checked the whole history of my products?
I deleted this product a couple of times. If you go way back, you'll see the first product I listed was actually this, which is before his

Thanks

But I will change the description

I think legally you can't say much if someone using your description. Sales pages may have copyrights but description doesn't carry copyrights most of the time.
