Download problems for customers 15th October (no replies)

I have had multiple customers over the last 24hrs who have had download problems (all from different parts of the world).
I even tried to download a couple of the files in question..and I also experienced incomplete downloads.
Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Hello. I am new to Tradebit; just signed up today. I would like to put up some photos for sale, but have a few questions...(as I've looked around here for about a week before joining, trying to see how things work. I have already written the keywords for my pictures, so that part is out of the way.)

1. Do I need to make each picture into the different sizes myself? I ask because I notice most if not all of the photos are offered in different sizes .... 469X724, 1278X1972, 1805X2784 are three of the sizes I have seen. So do I do this or do I just upload the largest size and you do the rest?

2. If I need to upload the different sizes myself, how do I do that? Does the upload thingy have an option for different sizes with the same image?

3. What size should I make the "preview" picture, the one you first see in the catalog?

4. Do I need to add the watermark myself or do you? What size do I need to make the watermarked image?

Sorry if this is a lot of questions, but I would like to do this correctly.

I would like to sell ebooks later, but want to get the photos up first (as I have the photos now and I need to write the ebooks first before I can sell them. Is Microsoft Word OK for writing the ebook? That is the program I have, so I hope it is OK.

I am facing FTP troubles. Here is what it throws up:

Tried with different FTP clients, as well as set the connection time out to a higher value but to no avail. What could the problem be? Advice please

Short heads up:

We have now added the Google +1 button on the filedetail pages and in the tagworld pages. For those, who are logged in - you can +1 the pages now with the products you sell or just like! For the time being we will support facebooks' "like" and Googles' +1 feature on the crucial pages on tradebit!

Does anyone know if there is a way on tradebit to track the traffic to files that you are selling. Interested to see which files are getting hits, would be useful in knowing what type of content to upload for future sales.

Hey guys, now that files can only be rated by the buyer in the download section, are you considering using the ratings as part of the search results ranking? i.e. files with more stars would appear higher in the search results

Hey Ralf,

Man you've been busy.

I really like the wordpress plugin. I installed it and started using it yesterday.

I'm thinking that having the files on my server is best. I already keep a copy of every file on my server because of my FREE Bonus program. But, I need to have everything password protected.

So before I validate my server I wanted to be certain that I understand the code.

Code example: [server]

My web address is [www.chucksplace.net]

So, lets say I create a file called "stuff" and password protect it with "user=george" and "password=mark".

Would my code need to be this:

[chucksplace.net] ?

Also, I know you've been busy but have you received my 2 emails this week?

Hello, Im new at this. I uploaded an ebook and there was an outdated cover to the pdf. I deleted the file and uploaded again correcting the mistake, but the old cover that I deleted is still showing in preview. How do I change this cover?

All of the sudden, again, none of my files are being accepted once they are uploaded.

I keep getting a message about copyright violations and not getting payouts.

I know the problem is not with keywords or copy. All of the sudden, NOTHING I upload can be added to my store. I have over 100 items in my store so, I have a pretty good idea of the process of adding items.

Anyone else having problems?

Please help... I would like to edit the file I uploaded and is now stored with Tradebit. I am the original author and should be able to access it to make some changes to it (corrections). I have not been able to do that. Can someone please tell me how to access the file ? My emails to Tradebit are not answered. Thank you.

Folks - we are getting serious here with another big copyright control session on Sunday. We have received a bunch of reports from users and other merchants who have been looking for scans of book covers, logo usage and other copyright violation over the last 10 days. I have a big list of violations here and will work on each of them on Sunday.

Use your Saturday to get rid of that stuff, if you want to keep your tradebit account. We are partly responsible for the stuff sold here and with the new credit card contracts in place in early July, I have to be strict about that.

We will have new payment methods soon and our partners are also driving a zero tolerance policy about copyright violations.

Just remove the stuff!

I found the link for uploading files, but it asks for a price (50 cents minimum). I thought you could put free ebooks on Tradebit. Am I missing something? If so, what??

Hi, brand new to tradebit so this is probably a stupid question, but... I have uploaded a lot of photo files (lots more to do) and on the file page, where previously there was a decent-sized picture to view this has now been replaced by the tiny thumbnail images (so when I send my customers her no-one will be able to see what they are buying). How do I / can I get a decent sized picture of the photo file for sale on the detail page? Any and all assistance much appreciated, thank you! Ian.

Hi,
This is my first time trying to upload. I am trying to upload a file and get the message to 'check description'. What am I checking for? Is there a word limit? The top of the page gives a warning about copyright violation but I have full PLR rights on this. Maybe this warnbng always comes, I don't know as I have never used this site before.

Allow me a short "heads up" on the announced move of tradebit into a new hosting system in a few days:

First we need to copy all data over to the new storage cloud. That takes about 7 days. We have started a slow sync progress in the back and before we move the servers, we will sync again to have the latest data.

In about 7 days (I guess Monday the 12th) will we close the member area for a few hours. But the final date and time slot will be announced here and via the mailing list again!

Until then I will once in a while post either in the forum or the blog about the progress. If you have any questions: ask here in this thread. I will keep an eye out.

Support emails will be answered within the next 24 hrs. I have some in my queue and I will get to them shortly... just if you wait desperately for an answer: I have to make sure the move does not affect stability, so bare with me!

Database error in the night from Thu to Fri - fixed (no replies)

Folks, just a short heads up on the errors some of you were experiencing in the last 6 hours:

One of our database servers stopped responding properly right after 1 am (US east coast time) and some buyers were unable to retrieve their merchandise. Some merchants also saw outdated data in the member area. We have identified and fixed the problem and are now back to normal operations.

Sorry for the hassle - that stuff only happens, when I am on the road X(

If you still face any kind of problems, do not hesitate to email our support team at tickets(at)tradebit.com but give us up to 24 hrs to respond. Lot of stuff going on and the weekend is coming up!

Hi there.

I'm new to Tradebit, and having trouble uploading files.

I've tried to use the Upload wizard twice, and both times, the upload has stopped half way and gone to an error page.

When I try to FTP, I get errors too. Am I suppose to FTP to the main folder, or to one of the folders within, such as "f-in", "prv", or "pub"??

I tried to set up a take away button on my site. It did not work.
I replaced the code as you described - inserting my paypal email in place of --publisher@tradebit.com--.

Is it necessary to paste the cart code as well? I did not.
I got a paypal screen saying my transaction could not be processed.

Your explanation could be more specific. This shouldn't be a guessing game.

Can you explain the correct process so that this option will work?

Hi.
I looked around but didn't see this issue addressed. I uploaded a book as a pdf file with all restrictions except that it will open and printing is allowed. Is this ok? Can you download these files? I'm new to this and to your system. Is there a necessary format for pdf files at tradebit?

I've already uploaded my files with Filezilla and when I check, I see them in my account. When I try to import my latest upload, I either get disconnected from the site or I get an "unspecified error" message. Any idea what may be causing this?

sub directory is slow loading (4 replies)

It takes my sub directory over a minute to load. Is this because of the number of files? I was planning on using tradebit for a membership site but if it is that slow loading and slow navigating when I do have access to the group, I will have to find another option for my membership site.
