Two of my existing products, when I edited them, were flagged by the copyright checker (?) for manual review and activation. The same happened to one of the products I newly added. Fine, it happens now and then but tradebit support has usually been great in approving them fast. This time though, it has been almost 3 days and the file is yet to be reviewed/activated. Could you please expedite the process? Thanks.

On another note, none of the support tickets I sent to tradebit support in the past week have been answered...yet! :(

You can link and sell, though!' when I updated an existing listing with a newer version of the pdf file. I made some improvements to the file and uploaded the file and kept the same file name. Can you tell me what this message means?

You might have noticed those javascript popup boxes that ask for user confirmation when he tries to delete some data. A similar confirmation popup - js or non-js, would be helpful when one tries to delete a file from tradebit. After all, sometimes such incidents can occur inadvertently too, and in my case whenever I have mistakenly deleted a file it would not accept a new upload with the same name and I would need to rename the upload a bit different to have it accepted by the system

Thanks for taking this into consideration. :)

Or, if a credit card payout is not possible, can you transfer money directly to a bank account through direct deposit? Just curious. I know Clickbank already does it.
While we are on the topic, when exactly is the payout day? Is it 10th, 15th or 19th every month?

Hello,

During the past two days I have been trying to add a plr pack of articles on gambling, for sale, but every time I do, the word 'gambling' is replaced by three asterisks. I hope selling gambling-related content does not violate tradebit guidelines? I do see several resellers already selling ebooks on gambling and this modification does not occur on their pages???

On another note, yesterday I added an article pack on 'dating' for sale and I saw a notice that the product would be manually reviewed and activated by tradebit. Needless to say, I am getting a bit paranoid :-(

I certainly don't want my account to be terminated, so if there is any list of topics tradebit does not allow, I would really appreciate if you share it. Thanks.
With the new layout, the space for detail pictures will be limited to around 480x400 pixels... the exact amount will be posted here during the week, but some of you use that space specifically for some infos for potential buyers.
Activating relations via 3rd party solutions - may it be YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus, etc. - always means to give the value of your relationship (e.g. merchant to customer OR webmaster of tradebit to merchant) into the hands of someone you do not know. That is fine as long as service, privacy and money related info is not compromised.

People who work with us for a long time, do know that we try to be open without giving too much away. In the light of what I call "the dawn of the darknet", we have to be careful what we tell to whom.

Nonetheless - social activity on a site or URL is also a signal of trust for many. We have started our Tradebit facebook page some time ago, but NEVER have done any marketing to push it. We will now change that slowly over the course of the next few months and post some info there:

Credit Card Fraud combat in the back... (no replies)

I know the fraudsters are reading this, too :X . Yet I wanted to inform all interested users on the platform on a process we run in the back. Because we are in the cross-hair of some criminals, I will not dive too deep into it, but some information must be shared...

People obviously try to abuse the delay in credit card chargebacks to upload some files and buy that stuff from themselves with stolen credit cards in hope to be paid before the sale busts. That is not just criminal activity, it is also endangering our business as a whole and also damn annoying and time consuming for us to combat that.

We will change some code and processes in the back over the next few days to prevent that further. We already caught some of the payments and will improve the screening methods further.

A very simple but inelegant way will be to delay the payments of direct credit card payments further. While the gateway we use to process credit cards is a very simple one, Paypal does much more to avoid such fraud attacks. Right now we have put a lot of merchants "on Hold" or deny any credit card processing for questionable products that have been reported by the community. If you wonder why your account might be blocked or limited... here is the reason. False positives in that screening process might happen, but we are very careful with deleting anyone... we just put accounts on hole for a while and process them with a little delay to avoid a major financial fallout!

Nonetheless: have a great weekend :)-D , we are on it ;-)

On Wednesday Google has officially added statistics for the +1 button to the Webmaster Tools they offer. A nice discussion is floating on Webmasterworld: [www.webmasterworld.com]

So, having a lot of +1s will probably help the product to rank. Also, you may want to add the +1 button on your own homepages, if you use our widgets to sell.

I am not too engaged with the social media hype, but if it helps ranking it is worth a shot. Add facebook "Like" and +1 on your pages, post here if you need some help with implementation so we can provide it publicly!

Unhappy with TB System Email promising addn support for low ratings (4 replies)

It seems TB has implemented a little code to automatically send emails to buyers saying:

"I have seen your bad ranking and was wondering how i might be able to help solve the problem."

Upon reply from the buyer, tradebit sends another canned reply:

Thank you for your request.

"Sorry, in this case we are only the hoster!

Please remember, we are a shop hosting platform. We do not know much about all the articles which are sold here. Please always contact the seller, if you have questions about the product or if you request a refund.

With this mail I have already forwarded your request to the merchant:"

The problem with this is: As a seller, I already would have contacted the buyer and would have resolved the issue or atleast have convinced him of his purchase. But what this email promising additional support does is: It makes the buyer feel that the issue is still not settled and then when he receives no support from tradebit, he feels that he is unattended to and goes for a refund. As a seller with a very low percentage of refunds, I feel extremely unhappy!

This is all very avoidable! If there has been a low rating, tradebit can email the seller and not buyer. After all as tradebit lets the buyer know: "We do not know much about all the articles which are sold here." So why promise additional support?

b) The missing Sunday will be paid within 24 hours, we are screening some last payments and need to access the fraud systems after midnight, when the data is updated

c) If you are missing your payout, please check if your status is "onHold" - then your account received suspicious payments and will be on hold for another week.

I have put this into the forum because the system update info in the blog shall be there for another day or 2. Stay tuned for the first round of payouts in 2-3 hours...

Do you allow an autoresponder/opt-in email form on the vendors home page?

I'm thinking of adding lead capture either as a squeeze page to the home page, or to the navigation column, but want to be sure its okay by tradebit.
Thanks,

Most of you have seen it in the press. In the aftermath of the Wikileaks smackdown, a lot of supporters of that platform started to attack the sites who expelled Wikileaks - on Thursday the major targets have been Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and Amazon. That has basically not a big effect on us, but we saw that some people reported transaction problems.

We have also seen a rougly 10% drop in sales over the last days and now it seems we are slowly recovering.

Since we can not be 100% sure the drop in sales is related to that incident, we see our traffic strong and steady - so that hack attack might be the reason for lower sales after all!

Folks, this week we are officially starting to offer MoneyBookers as the payout method.

Since we are in BETA mode and the next payout will still be Paypal, we only accept a handful of merchants, we MANUALLY switch over to Moneybookers. If you want to join the test, please email me directly with your account name:

puzzler(at)tradebit.com

and I will unlock the Moneybooker option for your account in the backoffice. The switch will take place for Wednesday the 8th of December. The upcoming payout stays as it was before. When the payout works on the 8th as intended, we will unlock Moneybookers for all verified merchants thereafter!

Hope you like that,
ie) File Id, File Name, Hyperlink to the file, Total Price, What we get, Email address of payee

Hi everyone,

I'm new in Tradebit.

Recently I sold a product in Tradebit and when I check the sale, there is an area showed " re-activate ". What does it mean ?

Do I have to click the "re-activate" button to activate the product for sale to the marketplace again for other buyers ?

Before I click, I better check with everyone here.

Thanks for a wonderful marketplace..

Cheers !
