Please give me steps to create MP3 Previews

Greetings: We've searched but for the life of me can't find the tutorial on how to create MP3 previews of some of my audio. We'd like to have multiple previews since our product has many songs in it.

I click PREVIEW (Sound/Movie snippet) but nothing happens, no window opens for me to browse and upload, no existing files showup. Please advise. Thanks

hi folks,

upload your MP3 preview files seperately...

1.) create local preview files en bloc with a tool like "audacity" (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)

2.) FTP them all up

3.) go to the member area FILES -> Show uploads

4.) tick all the preview files at the checkbox on the left

5.) scroll down and select the category "User Frontend -> Previews"

6.) Hit "Submit"

... this puts all the previews into the extra category.

When you do a "select" now on the EDIT page of the product itself, you can choose one of the previews out of that category...

I want the short mp3 preview to be heard when the play button is used, not the complete song. I thought that was the purpose of a preview. I don't want the full song to be playable only downloadable. Is this possible?

yes, that is possible...

There are different ways to do it, but I prefer:

Creating the preview of the songs locally with something like audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and upload them seperately.

After upload you sort the files into the category at the very bottom (Previews) of the category list and when you added a product already in the catalog, you can assign the file you created...

It sounds simple enough. If I follow this procedure will I acheive these things?

1. No preview download available.
2. Short mp3 preview file plays when play button is pushed.
3. Full song file downloads for purchase.
