Enhancing the platform with blogging

Hi folks,

the old blogger is not very professional (no RSS, no trackbacks, etc.), so I decided to use our large hardware setup for more... under [www.bitclix.com] I have just added a LifeType Blogger platform. That platform offers free blogs to anyone, so if you still do not have a blog, go and get one!

hi ralf,
great extension for the tradewiki community.
By the way: as bitclix is a service of tradebit, here my questions:
1.Are the username/password the same as in tradebit?
2.Is the blogging option within tradebit redirected to this new blogger?
3.Is it possible to vlog (video blog) yet?
4.Is a wiki underway, which can be used to synchronize the diverse blogs?

hi fridemar,

bitclix is fully standalone, but i plan to enhance the options on your subdomain to integrate other tools better.

Video-Blog: you can upload various files on bitclix, but the size is yet limited to 3 MB, which I might change! How big are the standard videos you would cast?

Wiki: nope, not yet... but i am not sure, what you mean by "syncronize" the blogs! You mean, if you have various blogs, you gather all into one wiki?

Do you have an example URL for such a wiki?

thanks,
ralf

Hi Ralf,

it's great to know, that it is possible to upload various files on bitclix. I think of small *.swf, and *.mov files.
Currently I feel, "small is beautiful" and 3MB will do. The bigger files are better appropriate candidates for sale on tradebit ;-)

I guess, I understand your reservedness towards wiki. You probably see the danger of putting words into mouths of other people. Considering this aspect, bloggings are safer.. and in a trading context, I want safety first. But there is another aspect of bloggs, they are not so link-friendly and it is more difficult to organize them well as (a link-rich and updateable archive).

There is meanwhile such a lot of useful info, buried in the archives and forums, that we can foresee an even bigger jungle of information. Wikis are great collaboration tools to build up communities. The key point is to get a critical mass of friendly and constructive community members, who like to present themselves *and* let shine collaborating peers. Coopetition=synthesis of cooperation and competition, can produce great synergies, makeing us all winners.

By synchronizing the actions of tradebit community members, I mean especially

- RecentChanges
- practising LinkExchange.

When this text would be in a Wiki, then it would make our communication much easier.
If a WikiWord like this one, is written, then one of two things can occur:
if there is no entry in the WikiDatabase, then in BrowseMode it is shown as link to an empty, otherwise to an existing page, ready for editing.

TradeWiki, earlier or later, could point to such a dream wiki. In fact, I could not find such an active wiki-community yet.

Tradebit however has enough friendly and constructive people and really could make
it.

What about a TradebitWiki, that resolves the problem of generating lots of incoming deep links, from all sorts of external pages of Tradebit community members? The same members, that are active in this TradbitWiki with their constructive contributions, earn visitors focus for their own endeavors.

Bitclix was GREAT but closed right now because of SPAM by PageRank junkies. Will it be back soon?
