Tradebit Sending Shortlinks To Someone Else's Files!

hi there,

recently i sold something to someone, and sent them a shortlink. i can only of course link to my files in my shortlinks since i do not have access to anyone else's files.

the woman who purhased this item emails me like 5 times wthin 24 hours very upset and complaining about me sending her "expired links".

i keep trying to tell her, just go to the page and input all the info the email tells you, refresh your page, etc. tryng to get her to be able to download ths file.

well after so many emails i follow the download link myself, input the code and her email address, and i see files linked there that belong to someone else.

plus it says the links are expired.

i now see why she is complaining.

so i re-send the download links to her, and if you go to the page now you will still see someone else's files at the top of the page plus the page updated itself to include my real links at the bottom of the page.

this is the download link - [www.tradebit.com]

i can supply the email and password if you need, but if you already have the password info i'm sure you can see that the top two files do not belong to me.

before i re-sent the shortlink a second time, the only links on the page were the expired ones for someone else's file.

so i wonder, what if this other woman who owns the other files set her shortlinks to expire within a day - i sent my buyer the shortlink yesterday.

and then what if her file was very expensive? someone else could have downloaded the file for free that wasn't supposed to.

my biggest concern however is that when i send shortlinks i expect the links to be actually what i send instead of links to someone else's files.

i have sold several of these items without a glitch. i have also sold on tradebit off and on for years and have never had this problem.

please let me know if tradebit will be looking into this issue? thanks!

hi,

what happens was already discussed in the previous thread: what you see is HER collection of all her downloads, including the files you sell. That means you look into her list of files and she bought more than just from you.

we will change that so that a merchant can NOT see the complete purchase list for privacy concers, but that involves some work.

strange nonetheless is, that your customer does see expired links first. these should be at the bottom. we look into that, now!

hi...my customer has never bought anything from the other woman. she has verified this with me.

i will tell this again:

one buyer buys something from me. yesterday, i send her shortlink to download file.

she did not follow the download link in the email i sent her until today.

when she does follow the download link today, she goes to the download page, enters her email addess and 4 digit code as instructed by the shortlink email i sent from tradebit, and she sees someone else's expired links - but none of *my* shortlinks appeared on the page.

my buyers says the other seller's links were expired, and she thought they were my links so she was angry as to why i would take her money then send her expired links so she couldn't even download what she bought.

so this other seller *could* have had her link set to expire in one day, and since that download page has been valid since yesterday, my buyer could have went to the download page today after the other seller's links were aleady expired but still saw that something had been on the page.

none of *my* download links were on the download page when my buyer went to it today, until i re-sent her the shortlinks this evening after she kept complaining to me of not being able to download any files.

i re-sent the shortlinks the same way i originally sent them, thru the "Sales" page, then to "create shotlink", linked to one of *my* files, entered my buyer's email address, wrote her a note, and sent the shortlinks to her from tradebit.

only *then* did my shortlinks appear on the download page, under this other's seller's expired links.

i do not know this other woman whose links appeared on my shortlink page, and certainly do not have access to her files.

and i do not know of this "other thread".

i am just here to post a question about why my buyer did not get my shortlinks that i sent her from tradebit, only for her to go to the download page to see info, an expired link, and a photo, etc. fom someone else's download package.

it matters not in this case that the other woman's links were expired, really, the issue is why didn't my shortlinks show up on that page where it was supposed to?

now i feel like i have to double check and follow each and every shortlink i send out myself to make sure it doesn't happen again so i don't almost lose a buyer again like i did this time.

thank you.

also my buyer has never purchased anything from tradebit before, so i don't see how her other tradebit purchases could be showing on the same page as where my shortlinks are supposed to be if she's never purchased from anyone on this site.

she had never even heard of tradebit until i told her about the site and what it's for.

well i am going to email you ASAP, because now i have another problem.

for some reason now the download page for my shortlinks will list too many files.

for example, if i send buyer A collection 1, which has 3 files in it, when they go to the download page there will be duplicates of all the files in the collection, so it looks like there are 6 files there, making it very confusing for buyers.

then, if i send buyer B collection 2, when they go to the download page files from collection 1 and 2 will be there.

VERY frustrating for me and my buyers. i just don't understand why this is happening. emailing you right now.

also i don't understand why the download page looks so drastically different today, from yesterday.

this is very confusing for buyers who tried to download files yesterday with no success, who are now trying to download the files again today.

the "ftp" and "Http" links beside each file are really confusing, even to me. and having the directions in mouseover links is totally not intuitive to most buyers.

the download page needs to have:

1. the right files on it. like my files. not links - expired or not - belonging to another seller who i don't even know

2. directions. not mousever ones either. that is not intuitive for most buyers

3. one of each file that is supposed to be there, not 2,3,4 copies of the same file

4. the right files for each buyer. not the last buyer's files showing up on the download page for the next buyer, etc. very confusing.

thank you.
