FTP Transfer problems

I am beginning to wonder if this is a problem with my account some how rather than a general issue. I managed to upload one file (145mb) with Filezilla yesterday but since then lots of connection issues. Tried using another client (Cute FTP) but seems to have the same effect. Hopefully the Tradebit support will be able to check things out for me.

I get the connection issue intermittantly every few days. Usually if I just wait a half hour or so it works again. As of right now it's working for me

Not working for me currently using FileZilla..... It's unable to retrieve the directory listing.

I am also getting these errors. Strange!

50 Accepted data connection
16:49:52 Error: Connection timed out
16:49:52 Error: File transfer failed after transferring 256 KiB in 32 seconds

AND


16:51:18 Response: 150 Accepted data connection
16:51:39 Error: Connection timed out
16:51:39 Error: File transfer failed after transferring 256 KiB in 35 seconds
16:51:39 Status: Resolving address of ftp.tradebit.com

Forgot to add that if I limit my upload speed to 20kbps then this error usually does not occur too often. However, with that speed it would probably the the whole day to upload 2 GB of files to tradebit. :|

I dunno if tradebit support file resume but I have enabled "resume file transfer" in Filezilla for my uploads to tradebit. Currently this seems to be the only way to get around it!

These are the 4 servers answering to ftp.tradebit.com. Maybe the rotating nameserver is causing this, but then these errors should NOT happen if you connect directly...

Also: if it still happens, i would try and setup one more box without firewalling... just for ftp and we need to test that again!

You mean the tradebit's ftp tool? I used that long time ago and it would just hang after sometime. I have not used it lately though. I feel more comfortable with filezilla anyway. I can queue downloads, have it shutdown automatically after downloads are finished, and so much more. This issue occurs only with tradebit, not the ftp accounts of my own websites.

Just two days before i had the same issue. I got this useful information after my issue is getting resolved.
