Larger File Transfer issue

Larger File Transfer issue
June 04, 2012 10:37PM
Hi there,
I have an issue of uploading large file to tradebit. I used FileZilla. The files under 50 MB were transferred successfully. Larger files also were transferred but when it done 100%, a large file immediately disappeared. I wonder if tradebit is not accepting the larger file.

I tried using other FTP software and even tradebit's FTP transfer. Still the same issue. Please advice

hi, you are using your other account, ending on 699, I suppose?

the ftp server tries to filter security risks away. maybe it is a bit too harsh. what is the exact file name you upload? We filter out .php, ".something" (everything starting with a dot) and some other files, especially warez and p*rn.

Hi, don't get me wrong. I am the same user as soltun69 and soltun. The reason is I just want to start a thread on forum but can't get through with soltun69 account. I don't know why. So I have no choice, I have to register another account soltun in order to post it.

Once I saw your reply, I then try to login to soltun account to post the answer. But, I have no idea, I can't login again. Even I key in the email address I used to registered to get the new password but the system said "The email address you entered could not be found."

I have no choice to register a new account soltun6999 and reply the post here. Please look into this issue. Once it solve you may delete the account soltun and soltun6999. Before you do it so you may get me to confirm the accounts.

Now let's get to the issue of this thread.
As I said it before, I can upload all the small size files but not the larger files. I don't think the issue is ftp server tries to filter security risks.

Here are the files that I am not able to upload it.
KeywordGoldrush.zip 320 MB
NewbiesUniversity.zip 315 MB
SurefireBrandingMachine.zip 370 MB

hi, it will be me (ralf) taking care of the problem anyhow... could you connect to one single ftp server:

pc.tradebit.com

and tell me the username you used. so i can dig thru the log file and find the error message.

mail me to puzzler(at)tradebit... so we do not need to go back and forth in the forum!

ralf

I too have this issue off and on and what I do is: once I am finished with the current queue of uploads, I do the uploads all over again with the command (in Filezilla) "Overwrite file if the size differs". Most of the files are skipped but there is always one or two that starts getting uploaded all lover again, which tells me maybe larger files sometimes 'expires' on tradebit server...whatever.

Also, I NEVER upload files larger than 100 MB (I did that in the past and it always resulted in a corrupt zip). Also, a considerable number of ppl are still on dialups so it makes sense not to make them download very large files. What I do is: UNZIP the whole pack, then split it into smaller chunks of 50-100 MB (all manually), then re-zip them (it is all easier to do if you use Winrar).
