Can't Create Thumbs In Admin Area. . .

Hi puzz,

A funny thing happened to me on my way to the upload directory. . .


I can no longer see any of the images I upload directly after I upload them inside the "Browse My Upload Dir", and as such, can no longer create thumbnails for the product description.

i see the error, the files have been renamed to "-jpg" instead of ".jpg", which is (i guess) my fault. i changed the security measures after the move and accidently added the DOT as a forbidden character.

will be changed back in a second!

i took the blame too early :-) it looks like you uploaded the files already as "-jpg" instead of ".jpg" ... tradebit recognizes the pictures by their suffix...

What about .JPG (in capital letters?) does tradebit recognize that, too?

Hi,

Tradebit is really amazing and full of surprises to me. I just signed up less than a week ago and already received 3 emails saying the same thing, "you have sales".

But, I still need help about where and how (or which button) exactly to click:
1) to upload my product's picture
2) to upload my product (the software that I'm selling)
3) to create thumbnail picture for my product
4) And... when will I receive the payment? And from who?

I've emailed the download links to the buyers there is no concern there.

Can somebody out there please help?

i know, that the process is a bit confusing if you just work on 1 product. The member area was designed for bulk configuration.

So, to answer your questions:

1.) upload your files pictures and sort them into the designated category (USER FRONTEND => PICTURES) at the very bottom of the drop down list

2.) have you logged into the member area, this video helps you: [www.tradebit.com]

3) the best is to upload the picture you want to use as a thumbnail like under 1 and sort it into (USER FRONTEND => THUMBNAILS)

4) we pay out weekly to the email address in your profile, every wednesday for the whole week before (2 days grace period)

Nope, that didn't help. I tried again for an hour and a half, it still can't be done. Looks like it got worse. Please help.

Let's look at a new item I just listed (item number: 3114396). Tradebit captured a brown satellite pic which I used for another item for thumbnail! It doesn't allow me to choose the pics I have in my c drive/ my PC. So now the thumbnail doesn't match the item! There's no pic for this item yet cause no button seem right to click. It's confusing... I still haven't received any email from tradebit for listing this item yet.

Frustrated, I tried to edit item number 3112936. But ended up losing the "Description". Now the "Description" shows: NOT AVAILABLE! Oh my God... Thumbnail still can't be done. When I try SUBMIT QUIRY, it showed a message "ERROR:You can not move JPG into that category, that makes no sense!" not sure what happened... I think I just wasted my time and turned circles...But luckily the pic is still there...Halliluyah...

So, please help me, Ralf, step-by-step:
1) How to go to User Frontend?
2) how to upload my product's picture
3) how to upload my product (the software that I'm selling)
4) In the totorial video, a pic "FOR SALE" was selected as thumbnail. Please guide me how to do the same... I mean get my thumbnail pictures from my c drive upload to tradebit, and select one of them as my thumbnail for my product

ok, here some very important basics:

Tradebit seperates PRODUCTS and additional media (thumbs, pics, etc.) in the system.

- Products are listed and are for sale. They have their different categories you see on the left...

- Additional media are not listed and just there to be assigned to products. These files are all in the "USER FRONTEND" category.

That is a fundamental difference in the tradebit system!

Once you upload pictures to the "staging" directory you may generate thumbnails by a click.

After the pictures are sorted into the category, the thumbnail function disappears.

So, the process and the order in which you upload what has an impact on the functions.

First upload your pictures, thumbs and previews and sort them into the user frontend categories.

Then upload your products and in the EDIT page, there are buttons to select the pictures and thumbs.

I hope that clears up the misunderstandings!

what drop down list? Where? the videos are no good. they are too fast and too noisy and the screens on the video differ from the screens on your site.
