adding thumbnail to an existing file - listing
March 28, 2009 03:27PM
I cannot seem to add a photo to an exiting e book i have for sale under the edit area- I found the member area to upload photo but it does not give me option to add a photo to my original listing. I have never seen so much confusion on how to do this with a website

hi, sorry for that - we get some complaints about the process and we will revisit the thumbnails again, soon!

important is, that you upload the image and sort it into the THUMBNAIL category:

if you are in the "Show Uploads", you tick the picture in the list and select from the drop down list at the bottom of the page:

"User Frontend -> Thumbnails"

and sort it into it. Then you can edit the original product and add the thumbnail there...

ok?

why do'nt you have someone go in my account and fix this and then tell me how this is done this is becoming way too time consuming

Hi,

It is really quite easy, this is how i do it:

1. Sign in with your username and password
2. Click files
3. Click Bulk upload
4. Once the java uploader has started, drag the file you want as a thumbnail onto the window, it will upload.
5. Click show uploads
6. Select the tickbox next to the file you have just uploaded.
7. Change the category to thumbnails (its right at the bottom).
8. Select "private" and press "submit query" button

Right the file will now be saved in the thumbnail directory ready to be used with any file already loaded. To assign it to a file you do this:

1. Click list products
2. Find the file you want to assign the thumbnail to and click the red edit at the end of the file (far right)
3. Near the top of the edit window you will see Thumbnail (100x100) a box and a select button. Click the select button.
4. In the window with "filter" next to it either type the filename of the file we just uploaded or select from the pictures below by pressing the select button next to the picture.
5. Press save file at the bottom of the edit page.

Simple as that. Will take a little time to update the thumbnail when searching.

Hope that helps.
