Gif Animation Creation?

hi everybody,

i am looking for a free or cheap gif animation software. Anyone out there, who has one? I have Animation Studio from Jasc, but it is not for me, but a friend who can not afford much and wants to save...

There are serveral tools out there, that allow gif animations, the question is now: do you need adobe flash to create simple flash anims, too?

if you search for gif animations on tradebit, you will find a bunch:

but maybe gif animations slowly vanish from the web?
