Refunds - Who Pays For This?

I just got a refund demand from a customer because somehow my Tradebit hosted file became corrupted according to the customer. So they want me to refund there money but of course I didn't collect the original payment from them, Tradebit did. Do I have to pay them the full refund and then somehow recoup the cost of the full refund from from Tradebit? If I pay the refund I am going to be paying the more than what I received for the sale based on Tradebits 25% commission structure. Or is there a link that I should forward my customer to request payment from Tradebit? Please advise and the sooner the better. Thanks.

hi marco...

depending on the receiver of the money:

1.) if the customer paid tradebit, we refund the buyer and deduct the amount from the overall revenue of your account (naturally no pay out on refunds)

2.) if the customer paid you directly (which is still possible, as you know) it is your business

does that answer that question?

If you have to refund people, who paid via tradebit, just shoot us an email with the details to tickets(at)tradebit.com

You know what's most aggravating about this type of behavior? When you're selling digital files that CANNOT be given back and the buyer gets a refund + your product.

I'm seeing this more and more increasingly since the payment switch over.

Anyone else noticing higher refund rates on higher priced items? Especially digital items?

And, is there anything we, as sellers can do about this Ralf?

tracy, good question. We will try to improve that, especially a check, if the file was downloaded completely, before refunding the payment.

Thanks Ralf, you da man.

And, for the record, I'm really enjoying the payment switch over and have absolutely NO complaints about the new system. It works perfectly, and I get paid regularly every week on Wednesday.

ebe01: that was the plan and it is helping us in calculations and spendings as well. We see much better now, what works and what is just eating up storage and time...
