Floodline has been from the beginning, and still is today, just a couple of guys making the music they love. It started in the Fall of 2003 when Daniel Hall and Jared Crabb hooked up to get a band together. Along with a couple of other players, they jammed often, all the while recording their progress. The band broke up before they ever found a name, and what was left was Dan and Jared writing out more songs, molding their sound, and looking for other players to jam with. For the next year and a half, our two friends auditioned singers and drummers alike. Although some of the guys fit the bill well, the sound just wasn’t what they were going for. So After over a year of frustration they decided to try their hand at just doing it themselves. Dan began singing the melody and harmony parts, Jared supplied the throat vocals and drums, and it seemed to work pretty well. After testing some of the track out, it seemed that it was going to be a two-man band for the first album. But first, they had to come up with some lyrics. After writing out some ideas, it became clear that the overall message was gong to take a more positive light than the usual death and destruction theme. Still a bit angst filled, the general conflict outlined in the themes seemed to resolve themselves within the song and toward the end of the tracks. So became the Floodline sound, and from then on it’s been a continuous music writing process, so far producing their first debut album “Passage To Dawn”. Floodline is currently in the process of recording their next album and are shooting for a Fall 2006 release. Visit them at https://www.tradebit.com to keep in touch.
