Trailing the tears of love''s labours lost comes calico. A work in progress,
a collective. The ethos is recording music that is different, but not
difficult. Beautiful, but not vain. Experimental, but not bratty. Formed
in Salt Lake City in 2004 by Brady Gunnell and Lorealle Bishop, current
members include Sean McCarthy, William Hesselbein, Tyler Ford, and Brady Gunnell.
Though subtle influences from the nostalgic lyricism of Neil Young to the
textural experimentation of John Cage can be found, calico strives to remain
true to it''s own language. Bittersweet and dreamy, theirs is a language
that is at once honest and evasive.
