Details:
Curtis Combs has been singing and creating music since a young man. His engaging and soulful style of delivery was shaped by a strong music environment. Born and raised in Macon, Georgia (home of such legends as Otis Redding, Little Richard, and The Allman Brothers), Curtis had always been around music whether it was in church, school, or at home with family and friends.

Curtis began his journey as a child singing in church, a place where singing was just as essential as the sermon. "My pastor, Bishop PJ Welch, was an exceptional singer as well as an inspiring minister. He made recordings of some of his more popular sermons, but it was his singing albums that captivated listeners. The music in church as a child was very influential in my life, and my late pastor had a profound influence on my development as a singer."

Curtis'' journey took him to Georgia Southern University where he sang and directed the Georgia Southern University Gospel Choir. The years of singing with this group further helped to develop his talent as a singer. It also gave him his first experience as a director.

After graduating from college with a B.S. in English Education, Curtis went back to Macon and took on the challenge of reorganizing the choir at his home church (Healing Temple Holiness Church). A few years later, he was offered a position as minister of music at Aberlena Missionary Baptist Church. “After two years at Aberlena, I was inspired and encouraged to organize a community choir, Spiritual Harmony. We sang for eight incredible years and climaxed our last two years with a live CD recording entitled "With My Whole Heart" and a live DVD concert recording at the Historic Douglas Theater in Macon."

Curtis continued his musical growth by going into the studio for the first time. This would again be a milestone in his musical journey. "The recording of my first solo project, “Exposed,” was the catalyst for everything musically I''m doing today. I began writing songs continuously within a short time span. Writing the lyrics to these songs was therapeutic because I had lost many family members and close friends to death. I wanted to make music that would help people to cope and get through the devastating pain of losing a loved one. I also wrote songs that expressed my feelings about mankind. I''ve always believed in making the effort to bridge the gap between all races of people.”

“This solo CD project became a collection of songs that spoke of my beliefs that had been formulated by life experiences. I was now ready to expose a side of me that some didn''t know existed. This would ultimately become my purpose in life.”
