T h e decision to make this recording
came after a fireside chat in Aspen, Colorado with
my friend and founder of The Manhattan Transfer, Tim Hauser.
I asked his direction on what would be a good style of recording for me
to undertake. He urged me to utilize my European musical quality and style in the
recording. His words stuck, and I began to develop a CD where I could share this
aspect of my musical identity with the listener. I am proud to present you
with Jazzissimo! I hope you will gain from it a greater understanding of
who I am as an artist as well as my personal style and jazz influence.
Jazzisimo! is a compilation of some of my favorite Italian songs, some Traditional
Jazz and some Contemporary Jazz sounds with my spin on the arrangements. I
used my thumb rather than a pick on the entire recording to achieve a pure and
natural sound inspired to me by Wes Montgomery and George Benson.
To all those who collaborated on this recording, I am appreciative
and thrilled that I had the opportunity to work with
you. It goes without saying that this CD would
not have been possible without the love and support
of many friends and family members.
