These two songs were recorded in one day at Harbor House Studios in Texas. All vocals, guitars, bass, drums and percussion (djembe) were played and sung by the artist.
The story of the song "Just Me" :
I love to worship. One day I had my guitar and was just in my house, with no other people around, singing to the Lord and worshiping. I started playing these chords that were really beautiful. I honestly didn''t even know what one of the chords was called. But as I played them, I knew there were awesome, powerful lyrics that went with this music. I asked the Holy Spirit to please show me what those lyrics were, and I kept worshiping. A couple of days later, I was doing the same thing, and I was playing the same chord progression. Suddenly, I remembered the time I gave my life to Jesus. It was so vivid, like I was there again. I saw myself on my knees at the Acquire the Fire conference, and I saw the other teens on their knees around me. I saw Jesus walking among the teens, and I could tell he was absolutely pumped and excited. He had a huge smile on his face. Suddenly I realized that at that moment, I didn''t know how to "pray right," I didn''t know how to be a "good Christian," but God just wanted me. At that moment, He didn''t want anything I could do or bring to him, he just wanted to know me. It is all about relationship. This song is about the Father''s heart towards His kids. In that First Love experience I had, the words of this song just poured out--it was so easy, the lyrics were just there. God wants relationship with us, and He gave everything in his Son, Jesus, just so we could know him. One of my favorite lines from the song is "You first loved me, now my First Love is You." God loved us first, so that we could have the pleasure and honor of knowing and loving Him. I want to know Jesus.
