In 2008, Jeffrey Joslin set out to make a record that would convey his heart and soul. He wanted to write and produce songs that sat in the same seat with the music that he''d listened to his whole life that continues to lift his spirits. Spending hours and hours dissecting classic Motown records and others from that same era, he tried to pull inspiration from his musical roots. Armed with a handful of microphones and an array of instruments, he locked himself in his room and went to work. He played every instrument, sang and arranged every note, and produced, engineered and mixed every sound byte. Upon crafting 14 to 15 songs, he weeded through the pile and pulled out the 5 that seemed to speak the loudest. What started out as "Smile" a full-length album, became "Smile: an ep," a record that continues to make Jeffrey smile, and hopes that when you hear it, you will do the same.
