Originally from Matehuala Mexico Jamaica 69 has been playing venue after venue throughout Mexico for the past 10 years. They have opened for popular acts such as ; "Mr. Symarip Roy Ellis", "Los Granadians" and the "The Toasters".
Jamaica 69 is not your average Ska/Reggae band. Their lineup consists of real Skinheads and Rudeboys who know their roots and have studied Jamaican culture and music. Skinheads that play Skinhead Reggae. That''s what sets Jamaica 69 apart from a lot of other bands
Rough and Tough is an Anthology of all three of their cds. The ironic thing is that this cd is mostly in spanish which makes it a novelty in itself. It''s amazing to hear the first few tracks from their roots that are so rough and elementary to a more professional sound towards the end of the discs. So for all you Skins and Ska/Reggae enthusists this cd is a must.
