Seán Óg Hogan
Biography:
Seán Óg Hogan is a Wicklow born singer/ songwriter. He completed a nine month tour of Europe in early 2010, where he fronted one of the highly acclaimed ‘Gael Force’ Irish dance shows as the Singer/Guitarist, accompanying the fine trad playing of virtuoso musicians; Ben Gunnery (the Popes), Mark Conyard (Hungry Grass) and Paddy Egan(Wicklow). The show called ‘Dance Masters Of Ireland’, enjoyed huge success selling out theatres all across Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Over 160 shows in 9 months, singing an entertaining mix of songs including originals and Irish classics has generated a lot of interest in Seán on the European scene. The singing and the performance side of his work has been reviewed as; ‘creating a truly magical atmosphere’ and ‘...an outstanding performance...’ in local and national papers in Germany and Switzerland, as well as Radio interviews across Europe.
Seán has been in studio lately recording his much anticipated debut single ‘Rise High King Rise’. A release date is imminent and it’s one of a few singles which will introduce his album in late 2010/early 2011. As a Hogan, Seán is a true descendant of Brian Ború himself! Fact! And it reflects in how proud he is of his Irish heritage. ‘Rise High King Rise’ delivers a topical uplifting message to us all! Let’s raise our spirits as a nation!
Seán Óg certainly hasn’t been wasting his years as at such a young age he has not only become an accomplished musician, but also studied Performing Arts and worked as a professional actor and Model! You may recognize his face from ‘The Hollywood Trials’, ‘The Tudors’, or more recently the popular ‘Fáilte Ireland’ and other well known TV commercials.
