Details:
In 1861, after 1,200 or so "Jayhawkers" attacked, murdered, burned and ravaged most of Western Missouri, a group of men met on the Sni-a-Bar creek in Mid-West Missouri. From that tiny creek they plotted an attack on Lawrence, KS that was executed with fiery revenge and retaliation. This song is a first-person narrative, perspective from one of those men, as the emotions of loss and despair built and culminated in Captain Quantrill''s Black Flag riders destruction of Lawrence, KS. All ashes to ashes and dust to dust kind of stuff.
