Addison Prophet is an acoustic-driven alternative rock group based out of Greensboro, NC. The band, created in the spring of 2008, consists of Rushton Loring (lead vocals/acoustic guitar), Luke Coats (lead guitar/vocals), and Matt Privette (percussion), along with their newest member, Luke Basinger (bass guitar) who will become a permanent addition to the team in the fall of 2010. The sound is one of energy and drive, with songs feeding from honesty, passion, insight, and a journey to see truth. The boys are in the process of firmly situating themselves in Greensboro and are trying to get signed to a label, but no matter what happens, they will always a bunch of Monster-drinking, hackey-sacking, God-loving best friends.
Addison means "son of Adam." We believe we are all descendants of Adam and Eve. A prophet is one who proclaims the Will of God.
There is Truth. A right and wrong.
Society disagrees. The popular view is that truth is subjective… created by individuals, for individuals.
We believe that there is an Ultimate Truth. One which we hunger for and learn about daily through internal and external exploration. If we want to know something, we research it. Ask questions. Explore creation. Our ideology is not to ignorantly believe, but to intelligently perceive.
God isn’t imprisonment, but rather, a sweet liberation.
