Details:
This album seems to have taken a long, long time to create - but in reality it
hasn’t been any longer than any other album so far. I think the difference this
time has been that some of the tracks (The Tortoise & The Hare for example)
existed a long time before this album was conceived as an entity in it’s own
right.
My aim when I set out was not to create a concept album! I
wanted the tracks to all be related in spirit to fairy tales, movies,
etc but didn’t intend any shared themes to be used... and then I wrote
Dervish and everything changed. In my head I heard so many different
ways that the piece could be developed and so from Dervish sprang the series
of Chinese Whispers tracks which all have the same basic thematic start but
then develop in different ways... so I guess some of this album has turned out to
be a concept album after all!
Regardless of concept (or not) I hope you enjoy the pieces on here.
