After moving to Los Angeles, I found myself alone, surrounded with insecure people and I myself took on those same traits. This CD captures most of what I felt in my first two years in the city. Things of course improved, but after renting a room from a woman with a kleptomaniac daughter, getting hit by a car driven by a paparazzi while riding my bike and having my ego torn apart by band mates, I had a lot to get off my chest. It''s amazing how one can spend so much time on their own in a city filled with almost 20 million people. Perhaps it''s just the way things are in an over-congested car society. I never really settled on anything in LA...women, work, music, friends, hobbies...not till the end at least.
I learned a lot about groove and importance of feel in LA, so this CD starts to encompass that. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it! -Justin D
