Beate Nes'' music is influenced by traditional Norwegian folk songs. Unlike many of her predecessors she includes elements of American country western in her songs. She spent four years in the hometown of the Beatles - Liverpool - which also occationally shines through in her songs. Nes, originally from the north of Norway, has spent the last couple of years playing at different acoustic venues in Oslo. And it is exactly the acoustic sound that defines her music. Her songs speak for themselves. Beate is a traditional folk artist, believing in the strength of lyrics and melody lines, rather than beats and heavy productions. Her distinctive voice is also an element that makes her music very reckognizable. At the moment Beate is recording her songs, capturing the atmosphere of her live performances in the studio.
