"INTO LIGHT" is a praise & worship/contemporary christian CD from Aussie singer-songwriter Hugh Wilson.
A collection of songs recorded over 5 years, the album therefore has certain stylistic variety, with each of the ten songs possessing somewhat differentiated identities; from the Beatlesque "I will walk with you", to the country influence of "All I live for" to the electronica of "Problem Solver" or the pop/rock of "Started Something".
A conjoining thread however, is Hugh''s consistently high quality vocals and of course the subject matter: songs sung to his creator and messiah.
Some of the songs have been used for collective praise & worship in christian churches, while others seemingly exist for more personal reflection, meditation and prayer.
On the whole, it seems we get a fair insight into aspects of Hugh''s relationship with his God through these, at times, highly personal songs; but the songs are also able to be used by the listener to assist their own communication with God: "Water to my soul", My King and My saviour" and the title track "Into Light" being cases in point.
